Description
HERE IT IS! John Leyton's rarest & most collectable 45.
1960 HMV Records cat: 45-POP 798
Side A - "The Girl On The Floor Above" Side B - Terry Brown's In Love With Mary Dee"
Recorded by England's first independant record producer, the legendary Joe Meek at his R.G.M. Sound studios, above a leather baggage shop on the Edgware Road, West London.
Visual condition is a very strong VG+, a few light marks, but nothing serious. Side A label has small initials "H T" in biro but is otherwise clean. Side B label has spindle mark but is otherwise clean. (see pictures)
Listening condition in my opinion would be VG+ (plays ex, but VG+, just to be safe). Both sides play extremely well for a 47 year old single with no clicks or pops during the tunes. I would say this record has had some play, but not a lot. Treble energy is high on both sides, but sound holds together well. As with all Mono recordings, it will sound at it's best in Mono.
A great "playing" copy I would say, in the Record Collector price guide at £100 (mint).

My appologies for the mistake.
