Description

On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers called 'Diary Of A Band Vol.1' and is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK 1st Pressing on the 1st Press 'Grooved' UNBOXED Decca Label!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!  THIS IS ONE OF JOHN MAYALLS RAREST LPS EVER AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE!!!!  BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP REALLY SPECIAL IS THAT IT IS THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE (EVEN BEFORE THE RELEASE DATE!) AND IS 1ST PRESSED IN ULTRA RARE STEREO!!!!  AND THIS IS SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE ON THIS LP!!!!  BACK IN VERY EARLY 1968 WHEN THIS LP WAS RELEASED VIRTUALLY EVERY 1ST PRESSING WAS MADE IN COMMON MONO - WITH VIRTUALLY NONE IN MEGA RARE STEREO!!!!  LATER STEREOS OCCASSIONALLY TURN UP FOR SALE - BUT 100% GENIUNE 1968 STEREO 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSINGS FROM THE VERY DAY OF RELEASE SIMPLY NEVER DO!!!!  AND THIS LP HAS MANY MANY VITALLY IMPORTANT DETAILS THAT SHOW THIS LP TO BE THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE (WELL BEFORE RELEASE!) - THAT ALL LATER PRESSINGS SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE!!!!  I WILL EXPLAIN THESE IN DETAIL BELOW:

FIRSTLY THE LABELS ARE THE 'EARLIEST POSSIBLE' WITH THE 1ST PRESS UNBOXED DECCA LOGO AND MOST IMPORTANTLY ARE 'GROOVED'!!!!  AND THIS IS INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT!!!!  THIS DISTINCTIVE DECCA 'GROOVED' UNBOXED LABEL HAD BEEN USED ON ALL DECCAS PREVIOUS LPS THROUGHOUT THE EARLY/MID 1960S - BUT ONLY A MONTH OR TWO AFTER THIS LP WAS RELEASED THIS 'GROOVED' LABEL WAS DROPPED AND REPLACED WITH THE LATER (AND FAR MORE COMMON!) 'FLAT' UNBOXED LABEL (WITH NO 'GROOVE') THAT WAS USED THROUGHOUT THE REST OF 1968 & 1969.  ONLY THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSINGS EVER MADE HAD A 'GROOVED' UNBOXED DECCA LABEL!!!!  SECONDLY THIS LP HAS THE 'EARLIEST POSSIBLE' 1W/1W MATRIX ENDINGS (LATER ONES ARE HIGHER) AND THE 'EARLIEST POSSIBLE' 1/1 MOTHER CODINGS!!!!  THIRDLY THE LAMINATED COVER IS AGAIN THE 'EARLIEST POSSIBLE' WITH NO 'MONO/STEREO' HOLE IN THE COVER BACK (LATER ONES DO!), AND THE WORD 'STEREO' IS PRINTED IN MASSIVE TEXT IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF THE COVER BACK (MUCH LATER ONES HAVE THIS PRINT IN MUCH SMALLER TEXT!)!!!!  AND LASTLY AND MUCH IMPORTANTLY THE INNER SLEEVE IS 'DATE CODED' IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER (SEE PICTURE) WITH THE DATE '2-68' (FEBRUARY 1968) WHICH WAS A FULL MONTH BEFORE THE RELEASE DATE!!!!  ALL THESE INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT DETAILS CLEARLY SHOW THAT THIS AMAZING LP WAS BOUGHT ON THE VERY DAY OF RELEASE BACK IN 1968!!!!  FINDING A MORE COMMON MONO 1ST PRESSING FROM THE VERY 'DAY OF RELEASE' IS HARD ENOUGH - BUT FINDING AN ULTRA RARE STEREO 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING IS SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE - BECAUSE BARELY ANY WERE EVER SOLD!!!!  JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!!  NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT CONDITION!!!!  THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1968 UK 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING ON THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS 'GROOVED' UNBOXED DECCA LABEL, 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS 'DATE CODED' INNER SLEEVE, 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS 1W/1W MATRIX ENDINGS, AND 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS 'ROBERT STACE' LAMINATED STEREO COVER!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!!  This is the ORIGINAL UK 1st Pressing from 1968 and is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The Cat. No is SKL 4918 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press 'Grooved' UNBOXED Decca label (see picture) and is a much MUCH rarer UK STEREO 1st pressing!!!!

The record labels are in STUNNING condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and only a few light spindle marks!!!!  The vinyl is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only 1 MEGA light hairline, only 2 or 3 MEGA light scufflines, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK!!!!  It is great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only 4/5 VERY brief surface sounds at the VERY beginning of 1 side only!!!!  The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO groovewear and NO distortion either!!!!  The record must grade Very Good++ if not better!!!!  Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!!  I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!!  The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 'Earliest' 1st Press 'Date-Coded' inner sleeve!!!!  The 1st Press 'Robert Stace' Laminated STEREO Cover is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only VERY slight corner wear (NOT through the colour), only a few light creases (cover is VERY flat looking), STUNNING shiny laminate, and NO writing!!!!  The opening edge is beautfiully straight with NO feathering!!!!  Even the unlaminated back is in STUNNING condition with NO writing, NO grubbyness, barely ANY rubbing AT ALL, and NO yellowing AT ALL!!!!  The cover must grade Very Good++++ if not better!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!

HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE!!!! It really is a GREAT looking LP and it is truly rare to find any copies of this MEGA RARE LP!!!! THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO BUY AN ORIGINAL 1968 UK 'EARLIEST' STEREO 1ST PRESSING OF "DIARY OF A BAND VOL.1" BY JOHN MAYALL & THE BLUESBREAKERS, IN BRILLIANT CONDITION!!!!  Dont forget to take a look at all my other items including many other TOP LPs and contact me with any queries you may have.
