JOHN MAYALL & ERIC CLAPTON 1966 RARE PRESSING DG LP Shipping Info  |  SALES THEME   Description JOHN MAYALL With ERIC CLAPTON "BLUESBREAKERS" London Records PLS-3. Cover: MINT, Vinyl: MINT, Labels: MINT! This is a 1966 12-inch STEREO DEEP GROOVE FIRST PRESSING LP, still with the original Shrink Wrap, with Original London inner sleeve!
What makes this RARE PRESSING LP stand out is the London Records catalog number of PLS-3, NOT the PLS-492 you would normally see on this record! I got this disc about 10 years ago in a large collection of Blues albums. I immediately noticed this difference. I wondered what the heck? Is it Canadian? No. A different foreign pressing? No. Promotional? No. So, what gives with this PLS-3 "Bluesbreakers" LP? Over the years I have spoken to everyone from John Mayall to Gary at Rockaway Records about this. They all agree they have never seen another one with this number, but they have no explanation for what it is.
CLAPTON had been declared GOD while playing with The Yardbirds. But, it was his jump to Mayall's Blues band, and the release of their album together "BLUESBREAKERS" in 1966, that introduced the world to Eric Clapton Bluesman. It was upon this foundation that he has built his career. Making this album a vital, and historic, recording in ERIC CLAPTON's long career. Here is a RARE PRESSING of this seminal LP that I have never seen anywhere else. This one will make a sweet addition to your personal Clapton collection!

[Cover looks FANTASTIC. Shrink wrap is intact but has some tears in it, but nothing that affects the cover's condition. Spine printing is neat and well-centered. Vinyl has tremendous shine and sparkle like a brand new record!] PLAYS FANTASTIC with NO surface noise.

Care for a slice of Blues History, anyone?
Don't miss out on this opportunity! This is just part of a collection of great Blues, R&B/Soul and Gospel LP's in this week's auctions!
