Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have collected over a period of more than 45 years! 1st UK pressing of the Raw Blues album  on the The 'Ace Of Spades' labels. Very rare in Stereo, very few were produced compared to mono pressings and in this top condition is very hard to find indeed!  Features the earliest possible A-1W and B-2W Matrix endings (Only 1st UK press)!   This album is complete with the original and beautiful 1st issue very glossy laminatred front only Robert Stace cover!! The audio is truly stunning through out! The audio is graded at Near  Mint in my opinion!  No loud constant clicks or pops! So rich and vibrant throughout! Looks and sounds like it has barely ever been played at all in my opinion! Visually I struggle to see no more than a couple of very feint spider marks on the labels! This is complete with the original picture inner in superb condition rarely seen complete like this!

"Raw Blues" was first released in January 1967. The exact date is unknown.




This is a magic album featuring the best of 60s blues.




The album is dominated by John Mayall and Eric Clapton, but features some great songs by early bluesmen: Otis Spann, Champion Jack Dupree and Curtis Jones.




 Long night features 'Steve Anglo' who is actually Steve Winwood!





 The Peter Green track is also memorable.





The solo by John Mayall, 'Burn out your blind eyes' highlights how good John Mayall was and is.




Clapton features on several tracks, playing in a style which is reminiscent of early 30s guitar, raw and vivid.




An album not to be missed by any early blues fan and to find this in Stereo is highly collectable and sought after especially in this condition!

The Vinyl
On initial visual inspection the vinyl looks absolutely superb, Barely a blemish on the playing surface.  I can't see or feel any scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops at all! Any marks that could possibly be seen would be light whypsy surface scuffs and sleeve removal type only.. , Note: There is one tiny dot noted on side 1 aprox 1mm that's all, probably cause by a needle been dropped at this point, and caused two light static clicks that I heard.  This lays perfectly flat on the turntable and are free from any warping. (Note! I have double checked this) The vinyl looks superb, still retaining its original glossy sheen from new.  (no) deep needle scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops at all!

The Audio Quality
I have played the vinyl prior to listing on a top system at very loud volume! The audio is superbe cristal clear and very vibrant throughout! Top audio seperation on all frequencies only heard like this on early original 1st pressings! Note! This is the best sounding copy that I have heard and that you could possibly find after 49 years,, so vibrant and clear, you will not find a better sounding album!  Importantly there were no loud constant clicks/ticks, pops or any jumps truly awesome and very rare for a 1st pressing. Even in between tracks this is lovely and quiet! looks and sounds like this has barely ever been played no more than two or three times ever in my personal opinion.  The audio is graded at Near as Mint in my opinion!

PLEASE NOTE! I always add this disclaimer! I have played this album prior to listing as usual and have given my honest opinion on the audio quality. Please remember this is a 49 years old original vinyl (not a reissue) Please allow for the odd interference/static/crackle/tick but importantly nothing consistant through out the audio! Please remember  that this would have been originally played on a system that is 49 years old!
All indications i.e. that this vinyl has (not) been overplayed and in fact looks barely ever played in my personal opinion, at least no more than a handful of times in my opinion and the audio quality superbe on all frequencies.
 
The labels
This features the "Ace Of Clubs" labels. These are superbe I can't see more than a couple of very feint spider marks on the labels, (even when angled to the light) and little if (no) spindle ware! This vinyl looks almost as unplayed in my personal opinion!

The Record Sleeve
This is the original Decca blue/white Stereo sleeve, poly lined and patented. No splits or tears light creasing/fading with age.   The vinyl is now always stored seperately from the sleeve.

The cover
The original 1st issue Robert Stace Press  laminated front only cover  This cover is absolutely superbe!  Rarely seen in decent top condition like this one.  There are (no) edge splits or tears.   The spine is generally lovely and  square and all text is readable. Super glossy laminate without any real ring wear (Very Very Rare)  Light bumping to mention at the corners and light laminate creases only. The rear is exceptionally clean and bright. A corner crease noted at the rear bottom right.  Any other imperfections, indents or yellowing are very minor and are not noticed unless looked for in my opinion.  Must be at least excellent  Plus  in my opinion rarely ever seen like this after 49 years on this cover!
