JOHN MAYALL ERIC CLAPTON BLUES BREAKERS 1966 London US Stereo 1st Press PS 492
DESCRIPTION
Blues Breakers is one of the foundational albums of British blues and blues-rock, capturing John Mayall’s band at its peak with Eric Clapton fresh out of the Yardbirds and redefining electric blues guitar. Often referred to as the “Beano album,” this record became a blueprint for generations of blues and rock players on both sides of the Atlantic.
Clapton’s tone and phrasing here are legendary, particularly on standout cuts like “All Your Love,” “Hideaway,” and “Steppin’ Out,” while Mayall’s songwriting and bandleading keep the session grounded in deep Chicago blues tradition.
This copy is a US original stereo pressing on London Records, complete with the original Atlantic catalog inner sleeve. The vinyl presents extremely clean and glossy, making this a strong player’s copy despite the cover wear. A classic title that remains essential for any serious blues or classic rock collection.
