Description
Like most labels, Atlantic Records sent out promotional copies of their records to radio stations. A very small percentage of those albums were monaural pressings, now coveted by collectors and music fans alike. Mono commercial issues of most albums (at least those recorded in stereo) were phased out by 1968, and now these promo-only monaural versions are even harder to find.
Original promo-only mono pressing of John Prine's classic first album. This is a white label issue on Atlantic 8296. It includes the original lyric sheet insert.
White label record has a couple light marks on it but plays near-mint. It's possible it is unplayed other than to test it for this listing.
Cover is a stock stereo one with 2 promo stickers: 1 listing suggested cuts for airplay, the other noting it's monaural. The cover is VG+, with some edge and ring wear.
