JOHNNY CASH # 2 1958 78 Ways Of A Woman/Nearest Thing (E-)

JOHNNY CASH. Quality 1772 (Cdn press of Sun masters) The Ways Of A Woman In Love/You’re The Nearest Thing To Heaven.
Here’s a Johnny Cash 78 that doesn’t show up all that often, cut near the end of Johnny’s stay with Sun Records. The ‘A’ side was co-written by Bill Justis (Raunchy) and Charlie Rich and I’m betting that Charlie plays piano on both sides.
‘Ways Of A Woman’ was # 2 for four weeks in late 1958 while ‘Nearest Thing’ hit # 5 around the same time. Johnny’s next chart entry was for Columbia.

This 78 visually grades a nice stroooong E- with a touch of very light wear and other light signs of E- use. Spot-checked. The disc plays extremely strong?it’s a LOUD pressing. There is a tiny mark that causes a couple of light ticks in the run-off area of side ‘B’. Labels are fine. Comes with a vivid Quality factory sleeve.

Unless otherwise stated, 78s are carefully cleaned by hand before listing. Upon receiving, your only job will be to enjoy the music.
78s come in used but nice vintage green sleeves or, when possible, original paper sleeves.
I do my spot-checking and play testing on a Technics 1200 turntable with a Stanton 500 cartridge using a standard Stanton 2.7 stylus. The amp is a mid-70s Pro-Linear with the mono switch activated. The speakers are small professional recording studio monitors (Yamaha NS 10) that are known for being overly bright – great for spotting that mild surface noise!
I ship 78s as I like to receive them - using the four-sheet 10” cardboard sandwich, foam chips, 12" x 12" x 4 "(or 6") box method.
I use standard 78 grading (E+, E, E-, V+, V, V- etc). I’ll sometimes use double plus or minus signs to really hone in on the shape.

S&H INFO:
I charge actual postage plus an extra dollar and a half (give or take a few cents, depending on the state of the constantly fluctuating US and Canadian dollars) to help pay for packing materials and, now, to help compensate for eBay’s new final-value-fee on shipping charges.
There is no ‘handling charge’ for the time I take to properly pack your precious vintage 78 for safe travel.
