Original UK 1st pressing on the MUSIC DE WOLFE label (DW/LP 3115), from 1969. Strange, funky and trance-inducing UK Library session by the ever eclectic composer (and cult bass player), Johnny Hawksworth. Exotic mood music by the mysterious Coconutters, no doubt players on the scene from London's local Caribbean community (who have always been crucial to the development of the London jazz sound). Distinctive, West Indies / Calypso and Voodoo inspired rhythm trax featuring several outstanding themes. The steel pan and funky hip hop drums of SANDY BEACH is maybe the most well known Library cue as it was comped on the Bite Harder - Music De Wolfe Studio Sampler Vol 2 but other themes are just as impressive. The groovy BANANA MAN is steel pan perfection with its locked-in beats and colourful, near psychedelic rhythms / BEWARE is like a ghostly dub reprise of Banana Man with slow mo' bass looped riddim and the spooky CARIBBEAN CREEPS has an experimental horror film ambience with sinister John Barry-esque zither / phased-out steel drums and other-worldly metallic sounds. The tribal / voodoo jazz delirium of CARIBBEAN TENSION and ANGUILLA INCIDENT feature lots of afro latin percussion and freestyle steel pan rhythms. Great for DJs. Other obscure themes for the Afro-caribbean / mento / Jamaican folk lover on here too. Mood music for an unknown film / television programme or radio show. This is the 1st issue, released just after The Lemon Dips - Who's Gonna Buy? (DW/LP 3114) psych masterpiece. Superb Afro folklore inspired sleeve. Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in shiny VG++ condition overall with some hairlines and faint scuffs from storage. Some faded, old pressing residue marks. All themes play with varying degrees of surface noise. Some soft pops and ticks (as you can hear on the soundclip). The front laminated / flipback sleeve is in closer to M- overall with minimal light wear from storage. Some natural age discoloration. Archive sticker to back sleeve. Clean and sharp looking item. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare Library 10-inch!!!
