There are several sessions on this Norgran 10 inch LP. The first was on January 15, 1951 and the personnel is as follows: Nelson Williams (tp) Lawrence Brown (tb) Johnny Hodges (as) Al Sears (ts) Leroy Lovett (p) Al McKibbon (b) Sonny Greer (d). They perform SOMETHING TO PAT YOUR FOOT TO and MY REWARD. The next session was at the Apollo Theater on December 11, 1952 featuring: Emmett Berry (tp) prob also incl. Lawrence Brown (tb) Johnny Hodges (as) Al Sears (ts) or Ben Webster (ts) + rhythm performing WHAM.  Next, on July 22, 1952 the personnel is as follows: Emmett Berry (tp) Lawrence Brown (tb) Johnny Hodges (as) Ben Webster (ts) Leroy Lovett (p) Red Callender (b) J.C. Heard (d). They play: HODGE PODGE and JAPPA. The next session features: Emmett Berry (tp) Lawrence Brown (tb) Johnny Hodges (as) Ben Webster and Rudy Williams (ts) Humphrey Ted Brannon (p) Barney Richmond (b) Al Walker (d), recorded December 11, 1952. Their selections are: LATINO; THROUGH THE NIGHT and THE SHEIK OF ARABY. If you buy this, I suggest you copy this as Norman Granz scattered the material! This is a MONO recording.

I have graded both the vinyl and the record jacket as EX for the following reasons. The vinyl is clean on both sides, with the exception of Side A Cut 1, as there is a mark, which does not interfere with play. There is no sign of wear in or around the spindle hole and the vinyl still retains its original luster. The record jacket is in excellent condition. There is some wear on the cover and some slight discoloration on the liner notes.
