Grading (Goldmine) and description:
Labels: A: NM+ / B: NM
A-side label has a few small imperfections/flaws, mostly consisting of a circle with an x inside which indicates that this was probably a promo copy that was distributed to a radio station. There is record hole wear visible from where the record was obviously used.  However the black print on the red label is clean and the red label is unfaded.
Disc: A: VG+ / B: Strong VG (Side A has very light but visible paper sleeve scuffs, none deep enough to feel with a fingernail, and both sides are shiny and still have plenty of sheen. Super slight variation storage warp. No part of the record ever loses contact with the turntable. No cracks. The name "Lee Silver" is written in the deadwax. Original matrix markings "45-J1-Re 1" in the deadwax on the "Two Ton Annie" side.


There are pictures of this rare sought after record on the Internet. The song also appears on a reissue extended play seven inch record.  "Two Ton Annie" also appears on a few low distribution oldies compilations and the song "Two Ton Annie" has been listened to on You Tube thousands of times. Yet the original issue of this highly collectable record is so rare that there is no data of one single sale of this original 45 rpm record documented on the Internet in the last 38 years.
The real name of Johnny Marlo is Johnny Mangiagli. Johnny Marlo also recorded rockabilly records under the name Johnny Knight on the Morroco label. One of the singles he released as Johnny Knight was called "Rock & Roll Guitar". Original copies of "Rock and Roll Guitar" are generally not often for sale on line but they are have sold for as much as five hundred dollars and more. Johnny Marlo also released a song called "The Gamma Goochie" in the 1960s on the Colpix record label while calling himself "Gamma Goochie"

"Before he reinvented himself as nonsense king Gamma Goochee, John Mangiagli was working as a dental technician by day, rock n’ roll guitarist by night. After a stint with Johnny Otis, Mangiagli connected with Ebb Records in-house producer Jesse J. Jones, who’d recently set up his own Morocco label to capitalize on America’s new found fascination with electrified hillbillies (aka rockabilly music). “Rock and Roll Guitar” b/w “Snake Shake” appeared briefly under the name Johnny Knight in early 1958, disappearing before the end of the year when Jones shuttered Morocco and founded L.A. R&B powerhouse 4-J Records. “My record started to break in New Orleans and they wanted more records–they thought I was a black guy because I could do rhythm & blues too–but my record company was small and didn’t have any money. The guy never even gave me a copy of the contract. It was a mess. They went bankrupt and I thought, ‘There goes my song.’” Mangiagli lost no sleep, returning to teeth—and eventually the studio—every year under some new alias or another over the next decade; Johnny Marlo, Johnny Donn with the Jazzrockers, Johnny Mangelli, and finally Gamma Goochee Himself."

There are three documented record releases on the record label known as Reel records from this era. The first one was the barely released Reel Records 45rpm record # 45 - 100 known as "Girl in the Window" by Bobby Hart which was released in 1959. The next one is Reel Records #45-101 which was a teenage tune written and performed by Johnny Marlo called "Everlasting Love" which was backed with the song "Everynight" also written by Marlo.  Both #45-100 and #45-101 have yellow labels. The third record release on the Reel Records label is this red labeled and apparently virtually undistributed Reel # 45-102 by Johnny Marlo known as "Two Ton Annie"
