Hello and welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years, long after records were replaced by reels, cassettes and CDs. While not all the items I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on:
TITLE & ARTIST: "Mickey and the Beanstalk" - by Johnny Mercer and members of the cast of "Fun and Fancy Free" on the Capitol Records label (CCX 67), in EXCELLENT condition, released in 1947. SPECIAL NOTE: This beautiful album has the later issued DCX 120 "Superflex" blue label records!
CONDITION OF JACKET: Excellent, with light edge/spine wear; includes 20-page booklet still firmly attached and filled with spectacular full color images of the story (Please see photos of actual item offered).
CONDITION OF DISC(S) - Excellent, with light scuffs to glossy surface. Dark Blue Capitol "Superflex" label (please see notes above for record information). SPECIAL FEATURES: This wonderful record "album" (from the days when a record album was similar to a photo album, including several records and often other illustrations) is part of Capitol Records great series of children's records from the '40s and '50s. Each album includes multiple story/song records. Many of the albums include sewn-in full size booklets richly illustrated and designed for "read along" fun for the children. Most of the albums are almost priceless, featuring such beautiful artwork and such heart-warming stories. Prized as collectables, these records still play beautifully and can still provide countless hours of delight for young and old listeners alike. Likewise the lovely illustrations can decorate a 21st century child's room in a spectacular and uniquely "retro" way. NOTE: This album features a beautiful 20-page booklet with images of the story and of Johnny Mercer telling the tale to Bobby Driscoll and Luana Patten. The pages have a slight wrinkle in the center.

TRACKS: This album includes three 78 rpm Capitol "Blue Label Superflex" records. The tracks are Johnny Mercer telling the tale of "Mickey and the Beanstalk" with musical accompaniment by Billy May.
OUR GRADING SYSTEM: We grade visually, and we are happy to listen to any record and give you an aural grade as well. SS (Still Sealed as from the factory); NM (Near Mint - our highest grade; the vinyl has only a very few light marks that do not affect play); VG++/EX (Very Good Plus Plus - a few more light marks than Near Mint; still a great record that plays near perfectly); VG+ (Very Good Plus - an enjoyable, played and loved, obviously used but still listenable record, usually with some light pops, but free of major audible distraction; jacket may be lightly worn, slightly dinged, even very lightly split, but NEVER trashed); VG (Very Good) and below - we usually do NOT sell these, but if we have some good reason to offer such a record, we will explain completely).
