This record is usually accepted as Australia’s first rock’n’roll release.
The 78’s came first and there were ones before it which leaned towards rock’n’roll (eg Les Welch etc)
but they relied heavily on jazz rhythms and personnel. It’s sometimes debated whether
this was O’Keefe’s first record. From what I understand, it wasn’t the first he recorded
(Love Letters in the Sand/Am I Blue is widely accepted as that) But JOK apparently hated
the latter songs and jockeyed for the latter to be forgotten/destroyed and his second pairing
(this record) was released. With the success of this record, the other was released soon after.
So- with this humble 78, Aussie musical history was made and the country
(and the world) have never been the same since.
CONDITION WISE:
Record: EX/EX- Labels : EX
MINT: Brand new condition, no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: Slight signs of having been played, no lessening of sound quality. Cover, label, extras are good.
VERY GOOD: Played quite a few times, no real deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras slight amount of wear and tear.
GOOD: Showing some wear and tear. Reasonable, playable sound. No major defects in record, cover, label, extras.
FAIR: Sound quality deteriorated. Cover, label, extras display folding, scuffing, marks
