SHAKE BABY SHAKE by JOHNNY O'KEEFE with the DEE JAYS

You are viewing my rare seven inch single from 1958 entitled, 'SHAKE BABY SHAKE' that was recorded by Australian Rock and Roll artist JOHNNY O'KEEFE with the DEE JAYS and written by CHAMPION JACK DUPREE. 

 

Released on the CORAL label with reference number 45-Q 72330, this record is considered to be a difficult rock and roll record to locate.


The 2012 Rare Record Guide values a mint copy of this rare single at £150.


This is the original first issue TRI-CENTRE CORAL recording that bears the matrix number 45-VC-104779-1C (side A) and 45-VC-104780-1C (side B).

 

The ‘B’ side track is entitled, ‘REAL WILD CHILD’ that was written by O'KEEFE, GREENAN & OWENS.

 

Unfortunately the record itself is not in superb condition.  I have played both sides myself and I guarantee it plays without any sticks or jumps.  Although both sides do play well, they both have quite a few marks from where it has been kept out of its paper sleeve.  There is some background noise throughout the recordings however the vocals, guitar and drums remain both clear and audible.   I grade this record as VG on both sides. 


Please note: This record is not in mint condition, but it does play well.
