During the 50's and early 60's, the UK London label released demo copies of their catalogue as single sided discs and it's increasingly hard to find an original pairing of both the 'A' and 'B' side together. Eventually released as catalogue # HLI 9072, we have on offer the following 1960 pairing from JOHNNY & THE HURRICANES;
DISC 1: "BEATNIK FLY" with Matrix # MSCI 4213 that remains in very good plus condition and plays perfectly throughout with audible crackle on the lead-in and run-off groove and quieter sections and with light sleeve rubs and the odd scuff. This copy has the solid centre and the label is clean other than a radio station or auction file number sticker and with light spindle wear and some ring wear along with a small annotation in the form of the running time. The catalogue number has been applied by way of a rubber stamp (see picture scan 1).
DISC 2: "SAND STORM" with Matrix # MSCI 4214 that remains in very good plus condition and plays perfectly throughout with audible crackle on the lead-in and run-off groove and quieter sections and with light sleeve rubs and the odd scuff. This copy has the solid centre and the label is clean other than a radio station or auction file number sticker and with some spindle and ring wear along with a small annotation in the form of the running time. The catalogue number has been applied by way of a rubber stamp (see picture scan 2).
Paired with an original company sleeve.
