JOHNNY AND THE SELF ABUSERS – Saints and Sinners ORIG Chiswick 45 // NS 22
(UK, Stereo, 1977)
CALLING ALL TOP GRADE RARE UK PUNK COLLECTORS!
10 years later they were one of the biggest bands on the planet as Simple Minds but this was their very first offering - as Johnny & The Self Abusers, they started their career with this 45 for Chiswick. I can bring it to you here in tip-top condition, almost still shop fresh and surely one of the very best still surviving today!
The thin paper sleeve was made in the UK by Delga Press Limited and is a special example in great shape. A little light wrinkling around the opening edges but NO heavy creases, NO splits, writing, stickers. All corners still sharp and edges straight and without damage. Incredibly preserved really, the only tiny thing is a 5mm tear to the opening edge but you have to look real close to spot it. Grades EX+ (Excellent Plus). Many would say near Mint. Superb, well-looked after copy.
The labels are as new. NO writing and no evidence of any use, really. Can’t spot any spindle trails. Perhaps signifying this hasn’t been played. (I say this with confidence!)
The vinyl is a dazzler! NO scratches, scuffs, hairlines. NO embedded dirt, scrapes or craters/dimples. Simply a stunning disc which looks new but I never give a full mint grade for ‘used’ records so I’ll go M- (Mint Minus). Incredible condition!
IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays A-1. So that’s NO snap, crackle or pop (quiet run-ins), NO ticks, clicks or hiss. NO distortion or loss of clarity / lack of definition. Sounds like new. Tremendous.
One of the best copies of this you will find. Don’t miss, it may be a while until another as good comes along!
