With a 17-minute long freak-out version of "Tobacco Road", this version kills, skins, and devours all other known and unknown versions of this classic John Loudermilk song. The song has endured a real odd journey down the, um…Tobacco road: from the original country novelty tune, to the British garage rave, to the Funk jam of Eric Burdon & War and then, finally, to the hard-rock anthem you find here on this album (does anyone plan to record a space-age bachelor pad or techno version?). Edgar Winter's version, with blood-curling screams and hollers   has to be heard to believed; this is one of the very few 70's albums that stands as an exception to the general rule: that the 70's were a bland, unimaginative, era (yeah, right - take this, buddy!)

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we  grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL  AS  NEAR MINT. Some VERY LIGHT AND SUPERFICIAL abrasions – mostly sleeve scuffs -  are (barely) visible, but are probably inaudible,  and do not affect visual integrity or beauty of the vinyl. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)          The records come in their original stock inner sleeves.

(c)             The records are pressed on a RELATIVELY  thick, inflexible vinyl. This is NOT a thin, flimsy ('dynaflex' type),  vinyl, but not the thickest, most rigid vinyl, either.

(d)            Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Cover has some light ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 4

-         Minor shelf wear noted on the seams (nothing significant)

-         Cover has some tiny, faint writing on its back side (a microscopic price code written in one corner)

-         Cover has a small original price sticker, which may be possible to remove with a little effort (we did not attempt to)

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No split seams

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)

-        No wrinkles or creases

-        No yellowing from aging

-        No stamps

-        No tearing: no chips, dents or nicks on the seams

-        No peel-off marks

-        No stains

-        No mold or mildew spots

-        No water damage

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No warping

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No glue traces or wax residue.

-        No bar codes

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers.
