Rare advance demo copy of Jon Pertwee’s 1972 single ‘Who is the Doctor’ (b/w ‘Pure Mystery’) – a take on the famous Doctor Who theme with Pertwee’s vocal accompaniment.
Released 1972 on Purple Records
This copy is marked ‘DEMO COPY NOT FOR SALE’ and includes the release date of 10.11.72 alongside a large letter A (common to demonstration records.)
Of note is that underneath the track title the printed lettering reading ‘based on the BBC TV series’ has been crossed through with pen, perhaps for legal reasons. This lettering does not appear on the shop release of the record.
Condition is excellent with not no obvious marks to the disc. Labels are clean.
Come with original plain card sleeve with sticker giving the release date.
