Despite the cutting-edge nature of her much-lauded Slave To The Rhythm set, 1981's Nightclubbing remains Grace Jones' finest hour. Recorded at Compass Point studios in Nassau with the help of Sly and Robbie, it saw the New York icon embracing her Jamaican roots, delivering near horizontal Balearic pop shot through with dub rhythms and occasional blasts of dubwise disco ("Pull Up To The Bumper"). This deluxe reissue presents the original album in remastered form, alongside a second disc featuring essential alternative versions. These include excellent 12" versions of "Feel Up" and "Use Me", plus various (uncredited) Larry Levan remixes of "Pull Up To The Bumper". If this isn't in your collection already, it should be.
