Jones & Stephenson's 1993 hooveriser 'The First Rebirth' shook the dance world, and especially the hard trance crowd, over whose collective third eye it still enjoys a mesmerising hold. The mark of a true evental crunch-point in style, the track sparked debate: some heard chaotic noise, others a soaring melodic trance. Yet its blend of driving hardcore beats and energised melodies is undeniable. The track cemented the names of Frank Sels (Franky Jones) and David Brants (Axel Stephenson) as apparents of the 90s Belgian trance circuit. Flip it over too for 'Life Of Flow', an ambient journey with an urban vibe, contrasting sharply with the A's intensity.
