DESCRIPTION
Released in 1969, Clouds is Joni Mitchell’s second studio album and one of the most important singer-songwriter records of the era. Sparse, intimate, and lyrically sharp, the album helped establish Mitchell as a defining voice of late-1960s folk music and laid the groundwork for her later masterpieces.
The album features some of her most enduring compositions, including “Both Sides, Now,” “Chelsea Morning,” and “That Song About the Midway,” showcasing her early melodic strength and poetic clarity.
This copy is a confirmed original U.S. first pressing, identified by 1A / 1A matrix suffixes on both sides. It also features a documented early manufacturing cover anomaly found only on the earliest covers from the first metal master run: a vertical seam running through the center of the back cover, airbrushed over at the plant rather than reprinted. This defect is visible on this copy and is associated with the very first jackets produced before corrections were made. A legitimate early-press identifier and desirable collector detail.
