JOSEFUS: Self-titled 1970 Album - Original PROMO (Radio DJ) Stereo First Pressing:
I'm the original owner of this album. Got it new while when it first came out, while working at a college radio station. If you are reading this auction, you already know how rare this record is as one of the truly interesting relics of the late '60s and early '70s rock era, as well as being a tiny bit of Texas music history. Josefus originated in Houston, and their hard-rock music is considered to be one of the fore-runners of Heavy Metal.
This LP has been in dry, indoor storage since new in 1970, and is a genuinely rare record today. It's a Radio/DJ promotional copy, as noted on the cover, and is (of course) a first-pressing record. Please see photos for details.
As with most of my records, I played these only once or twice, and then they were left at home, as I was away at college. Never got back to being home again or playing them, so the record is in "almost-unplayed" (excellent or like-new) condition. The cover has moderate wear, with a small split on the bottom. Original plain white sleeve, also with small split at the bottom, and light yellowing due to age. This is a Stereo LP, and the original Mainstream Records number is S 6127 (or S-6127) as listed on both sides of the label. The "For Demonstration Only Not For Sale" marking is clearly noted on the back of the album. Hopefully you'll enjoy adding this unusual album to your collection!
