JOSH WHITE (Autograph) 78rpm Songs By Josh White ASCH RECORDINGS 3x10” Set 1944
NOTES: Autographed copy by the superb folk/blues singer Josh White (Sr.), a 3 - 10 inch disc, shellac 78rpm record set on Asch Recordings, New York / I cannot prove the provinance of the autograph, but this was obtained by my father who had been a civil rights activist since the 1930’s, a good friend of Moe Asch, founder of Folkways Records (rights now controlled by the Smithsonian) and eventually a record & conceert entreprenur in his own right / discs are less than perfect, not quite sure how to grade them but they show wear and scuffing - rated Good Minus (G-) in my estimation / cover is deteriorating as I photographed them, having taken them out of 50+ years of storage; front cover is nearly detached from spine, spine itself broken and split off but detached piece, obvious wear around edges and corners, in poor condition / autograph is on a white card scotch taped to the innersleeve and shows exactly as in photograph, which is where I estimate the value / foreword by Langston Hughes on inside cover; tracks: One Meat Ball, The House I Live In, Fare Thee Well, When I Lay Down and Die Do Die, Outskirts of Town, Work-Blues / for best view, supersize photo at top of this webpage and scan thru the pictures, which are considered part of the description / please note we package all items very carefullyClick here to see my other LPs & 45s
