Bought from Factory Records Office, Palantine Road, Manchester in 1979

"The first ever Factory Records release, FAC 2 - "A Factory Sample" double 7" single, released December 1978. Tony Wilson's idea to make a record featuring usigned bands who had performed at Wilson's Factory Night at the Russell Club brought together the unique combination of talents that led to Factory's initial success - the "industrial minimalist" sleeve design by Peter Saville, the debut of longtime Factory-stalwarts The Durutti Column, & most of all the opening track "Digital", the first recorded collaberation between Martin Hannett and Joy Division.
