Description
JOY DIVISION - " CLOSER ", Factory Records (FACT.25) 1980.
Very rare early issue LP - the very first run off the press was done with ruby vinyl and an inner with rounded corners. This LP is a slightly later pressing than that with black vinyl and a square cornered inner, but it still has the first matix numbers ending in A1/B1.
English issue and pressing.
Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve.
CONDITION:
VINYL = EX- (No deep scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, only light spindle trails, etc. Under a bright grading lamp I can make out a few light paper/surface scuffs, plus a couple of other faint marks on the vinyl's surface - although it turns out that these are purely visual and during playback, these very slight superficial flaws correspond directly to any audible defects.
On playback, there is some faint surface noise during the silent run-in (in the pressing) which disappears as soon as the music starts. It plays really well - strong, clean and without interuptions. If only this srecord had looked like it plays, it would have madse a straight EX grading.
Not quite an untouched museum piece, but a good honest copy for someone out there to play and enjoy as it was originally intended.
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)
SLEEVE = EX- (No creases, rips, tears, defacing, etc. Spine still perfectly intact and readable. So nearly an EX grading, but there is just the very slightest of discolouration and grubbyness around the edges of this LP that I couldn't ignore. Still easily the best condition copy of this LP sleeve that I have ever had - see photos for further clarification)
NOTE: I must point out that we are actually a long standing physical record shop, with many decades worth of selling, trading and grading records under our collective belts. Unlike so many of the jokers now selling records on ebay, we know how to grade records. Before bidding, please read my description carefully, decide how much this record is worth to you and place you max bid accordingly. Please also feel free to check out my feedback from the many other successful transactions I have made in the past.
ANY QUESTIONS? PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO GET IN TOUCH!
HAPPY BIDDING!!!!!
