This is considered one of the very rarest and most sought after of the 1970’s British punk singles.
Recorded at the Pennine Sound Studio in 1977 when Joy Division were still known as Warsaw, this seminal EP was eventually released in June 1978 on the band’s own Enigma label.
This EP was Joy Division’s first official release and came before the band signed to the legendary Factory Records label. The 4 track EP comes with a 14” x 14” fold-out sleeve designed by the band’s lead guitarist Bernard Sumner, who went on to become the front man for New Order. Very few copies were produced and the four band members actually had to fold the sleeves and insert the EP themselves!
This is a genuine original pressing of this incredibly rare item. Both the vinyl and the sleeve are in great condition (please see scans). The historical importance of this landmark release is recognised by everyone interested in popular music memorabilia, punk, post-punk, indie, Joy Division, New Order, Monaco, Electronic and Factory Records – making it a ‘must have’ for all serious collectors.
