HERE WE HAVE AN EXCELLENT, UK FACTORY RECORDS (FACT 40) RARE FIRST PRESSING (October 8, 1981) OF JOY DIVISION'S "Still" DOUBLE LP SET

This compilation consists of rare songs, previously unused studio material and a recording of their last ever performance at High Hall, Birmingham University on May 2, 1980.
The performance includes the only time the group ever played "Ceremony", which later became New Order's first single.
Also featured is a cover of The Velvet Underground's "Sister Ray", recorded at The Moonlight Club in London on April 3, 1980.
Sides 3 and 4 were recorded at Birmingham University 2/5/80
Sister Ray was recorded at The Moonlight Club, London 3/4/80
The final track on Side Three, "Twenty Four Hours" is not listed on the sleeve

THE RECORDS HAVE THE FIRST ISSUE WHITE LABELS WITH GREY LETTERING

THE SET IS LAVISHLY PACKAGED IN A HESSIAN HARDBACK OUTER COVER WITH INDENTED WHITE FACTORY LOGO AND 'STILL' TEXT.
THERE IS A WHITE RIBBON AROUND THE SPINE WHICH HOLD THE INNER GATEFOLD IN PLACE.
THE INNER GATEFOLD HAS A SOFT TEXTURED SILKY FINISH AGAIN, WITH INDENTED WHITE LOGOS AND LETTERING AND HAS TWO INTERNAL POCKETS WHICH HOUSE THE RECORDS IN TWO TEXTURED, DIE-CUT THICK CARD GREY INNER SLEEVES - EACH INNER HAS ONE ROUNDED CORNER TO CORRESPOND TO THE ROUNDED CORNERS ON THE INTERNAL POCKETS

LABELS: The labels are CLEAN and BRIGHT with NO wear, NO marks/unwanted writing and light/moderate spindles. Both spindle holes are still quite tight - the records have not been over-played at all
VINYL Visual: Both records retain their original DEEP, GLOSSY sheen but they do display a few marks, especially on the run-in area but these have minimal audio consequence - one pressing blemish at the very end of Side Two does however, cause some audio interference (see detailed audio assessment below)
VINYL Audio: There are NO scratches, NO sticks or jumps and barely any clicks or pops (just some clicks at the beginning of "Decades" but this track is particularly poorly recorded with notable tape warble from the original transfer). The pressing blemish at the end of "Sister Ray" causes some interference as it is is passed over for the last 15 seconds of the track but apart from these flaws the rest of the album plays BEAUTIFULLY THROUGHOUT and to a very high standard with SUPERB CLARITY, NO groove-wear and NO distortion. Must be critically graded EXCELLENT / VERY GOOD / EXCELLENT+ / EXCELLENT for audio. NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards (please refer to my feedback and 'about me' page)
HARDBACK HESSIAN OUTER COVER: GOOD and SOLID with just a few light marks and a little storage 'bumping' to the corners. The white knotted ribbon is in-place but again, has some marks on the top and bottom from storage. Overall, EXCELLENT (please see photos)
SLEEVE: The silky textured gatefold cover is also in EXCELLENT condition with some light age discolouration along the spine area. The indented white "STILL" text on the spine is SHARP and BOLD
INNER SLEEVES: Both inners are MINT with NO wear or splits. Both records are housed in separate inner sleeves and will be posted in these inners to avoid any damage to the originals during transit
