Description

J.R. Monterose with Ira Sullivan, Horace Silver, Wilber Ware, "Philly" Joe Jones on Blue Note # 1536. This is an ORIGINAL LP with the Lexington address!! It has RVG written in the run-off grooves. (It is NOT DG). The vinyl is NM! The jacket is NM with some minor shelf wear on the upper L side of the upper spine, and some across the bottom - no splits. The Lexington address is also on the back of the jacket, as well as a circle containing the stamped letters N.R.

in response to numerous questions about the run-off grooves, here is a more concise description. We have also added 2 more pics that you can kind of see details. Hope this helps;
Side one has RVG written, the cat # as BN-LP-1536-A and what looks like a smooshed treble clef, or a smooshed B, or, I suppose a smooshed ear. The label itself is 33 1/3 microgroove LONG PLAYING blue note records 161 lexington Ave NYC - NOT a deep groove. Side 2 is the same (with B in place of A, of course). Interestingly, the "ear" shows up better in this photo than it does in person - must be the way the light hits it. The Blue Note inner sleeve has the 43 W 61st st address on it and the newest number I see is 4138 - not that that means anything, as it could have been switched out at any time, or it could be the one it came it, there's no way to know.
