Johann Sebastian Bach: 6 Suites for solo Cello BWV 1007-1012. Performed by Daniil Shafran. Iconic studio recordings of 1969 (Suite No. 3), 1970 (Suite No. 1), 1971 (Suites Nos. 2 & 5) and 1974 (Suites Nos. 4 & 6). First issued as set in the mid.1970s on following labels.
Melodiya 33CM-01935-6; 33CM-05416, 33CM-05418-20. 3LP box set. Stereo. USSR, mid.1970s (GOST-73). VSG pressing.
VISUALLY RECORD 1 IS EX/EX, RECORD 2 IS EX-/EX (VISIBLE ONLY UNDER STRONG LIGHT FEW NON-FELLABLE SURFACE HAIRLINES ON SIDE 3, SEE PICTURE 7), RECORD 3 IS NM-/EX- (BEATIFUL LOOK OF BOTH SIDES BUT ONE TINY MOTE IN THE BEGINNING OF SIDE 6, WHICH GIVES CIRCA.10 LIGHT TICS). IN EXCEPTION OF THOSE BEGINNING OF SIDE 6 EVERY SIDE PLAYS WITHOUT ISSUES, MAY HAVE ONLY RARE OCCASIONAL STATICS THAT HARDLY EVER FEELABLE. BEATIFUL AND GREAT SOUND, NICE SHAPE OVERALL.
ORIGINAL COVER BOX IS UNFORTUNATELY LOST, WILL BE SENT IN GENERIC MELODIYA HARD COVER BOX (SEE ON PICTURE) TO PROTECT THIS GREAT RECORDING.
NM (= M-): Near Mint: album has been played with no visible signs of wear or damage.
VG++ (= EX): Still very shiny, album has light signs of wear: a couple of inaudible light scuffs and/or light scratches.
VG+ : Some more wear, light scratches and/or scuffs: album plays with minimal surfacenoise = occasional light crackle, but still very enjoyable.
VG : Scratches and scuffs. Album plays with some more surfacenoise (light crackle and/or or occasional pops, but no skipped or repeat grooves).
G : Moderate, even wear throughout, still playable but with quite some surfacenoise (I rarely list records with this grade, except when they are very collectable
