Description

I've been a Priest fan forever, but it's time to clean out my precious vinyl collection!

I first heard Judas Priest in 1976, and I really liked what I heard. The first 2 albums, Rocka Rolla and Sad Wings of Destiny weren't available in Australia at that time, so I had them imported especially. All the other albums are Australian CBS first releases, I had a standing order at my local record bar for anything that was released.

The 2nd two albums in this set,  Hero Hero and The Best of Judas Priest, were released by Gull after Priest changed record companies in the late 70's. There are actually two identical albums in the 'Best Of Judas Priest' sleeve. One is the original Gull pressing, the other a Possum label. Where the 2nd album came from I have no idea, I've obviously picked it up somewhere in the distant past. People used to steal album sleeves from record stores to decorate their bedroom walls in those days, maybe that's where I got just the album from.

The vinyl is as close to mint as you're ever going to see. My standard procedure when buying a new LP was to also buy a blank cassette, record the album onto it, then put the vinyl into storage until I wore the tape out, when it would come out of storage only long enough to record a new cassette. Some of these albums would have only been played once or twice in their entire lives.

The same goes for the sleeves, they've never been taken to parties, left on the loungeroom floor, or in the sun. I can't see a mark on any of them, apart from the occasional bruised corner or slight crease. They've always been stored in clear plastic protective sleeves in a dry wardrobe, standing vertically.

I've also included four VHS video tapes, as far as I'm aware the only 'official' videos ever released by Judas Priest until Metalworks, which celebrated the Halford years up until he left the band in the early 90's.  I have no idea of the condition of these tapes, we don't even have a VHS player any more. I just added them to the bundle because they're a part of my collection, and the covers alone are worth having in anyone's Priest collection.

If you'd like more photos, details, or to inspect the collection before bidding, please message me. They're in Southport on the Qld Gold Coast.

Free pickup in Southport, I can box them up and get them to Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast by courier for $10, or I cam package them properly and ship them by registered post for whatever it costs.

And  no, I haven't given up on Judas Priest,  I've got the entire collection on my ipod, and the tapes are now on DVD... :)  I'm not that old yet...
