You are bidding on a vinyl LP of ‘Screaming For Vengeance’ as released by Judas Priest in 1982.
It is in excellent+ condition with very minor shelf wear on the outer sleeve, and minor creasing to the original printed inner. I believe the LP originally had a poster included but this ended up on my bedroom wall (I was 15 at the time!!!!) and has long since vanished. The vinyl is pristine and plays perfectly. I am only selling this item as I do not currently have a good quality record deck and have the album on CD
‘Screaming For Vengeance’ is the eighth studio album by the band and whilst their sixth album, ‘British Steel’, may be considered the definitive Judas Priest release, ‘Screaming For Vengeance’ was the album that finally cracked the US where it was certified 2x platinum by the RIAA, It peaked at #11 in the UK album charts and #17 in the US Billboard charts, selling more than 5million copies worldwide. ‘Point of Entry’ followed up ‘British Steel’, and if the band had lost some momentum with that release, there was no doubt that ‘Screaming For Vengeance’ regained it as the band refocussed on heavy metal and achieved a greater balance between commercialism and creativity. The results were catchy and accessible, yet harder-hitting, and I defy anyone to tell me a better live set opening blast than ‘The Helion/Electric Eye’. The album also includes the classic ‘You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’’ which peaked at #4 in the US Singles chart and ‘(Take These) Chains’ which will be have been considered something of a rarity when it formed an integral part of the 2019 live set.
Alongside ‘British Steel’, it ranks as one of the best and most important mainstream metal albums of the '80s.
