MY FAVOURITE THINGS - AUSTRALIAN 60'S COOL JAZZ

 

Here we have the wonderful Australian Jazz classic LP entitled "My Favourite Things" by maestro jazz pianist New Zealand born Judy Bailey.  This superb album was produced by Sven Libaek one of the best producers of albums throughout the 60's.  Released in 1965 this was Judy Bailey's 2nd album CBS Monaural BP 233263 and is very difficult to find.  It featured her quintet - Graeme Lyall on tenor saxophone; Jack Grimsley on trombone; Ed Gaston on strings bass and Derek Fairbass on drums and Judy on piano.

 

Although the album is not in mint condition, most tracks play impressively.  On side 2, two tracks "Somewhere" and Irma La Douce" have a little crackling.  The rest sounds pretty good.

 

Grading: Vinyl VG+ to Good - Some light marks but the sound is great on most tracks.  No skips or repeats.

 

Cover: VG+ - a little ring wear, a small crease and a name written on the back cover.

 

Songs include: My Favourite Things; I Believe in You; Real Live Girl; I've Got a Lot of Livin' To Do; What Kind of Fool Am I; Somewhere; I've Got Your Number; Irma La Douce.
