Juicy Lucy : Juicy Lucy A1 / 2Y2 Vertigo Pressing 1969
This Vertigo pressing plays 'as new' from start to finish with no intrusion. I am confident in saying 'as new' because I have played the album in full and you will not find better clarity and definition than what is on offer here! The vinyl is visually stunning and has clearly not been played very much based on 1 the audio, 2 minimal spindle wear and 3 there is still some vinyl flecking around the S2 spindle hole. The playback is incredible and it easily qualifies as a FINAL UPGRADE album in every way, audio does not get any better than this!
The gatefold is in excellent condition which makes a change and the original swirl inner has also been preserved very well.
This is known as a second pressing because it does not have 'A Philips Record Product' at the foot of the label and has a later matrix of A1/2Y2.

Visual description
The vinyl is in superb condition and still has a lovely glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. I can only see a small number of faint hairlines under a bright light and looking under 'normal' light it is pristine. The Vertigo labels are very clean with no marking and only very minimal spindle wear. As stated there is still a little vinyl flecking around the spindle hole.
Play grading
The bass intro on 'Mississippi Woman' is perfect and Campbell's opening vocal is just as clean and strong. You listen to some records from this era and you think the clarity is impressive but it really is on another level here. I just write as I hear and I do not intend to exaggerate - the overall sonic quality here is just STUNNING with every section plays with genuine precision. A Mint introduction to the album.
'Who Do You Love' is of the same exact standard - their one and only top 20 hit came with this song and it plays loud and true here with no intrusion on the audio. Another Mint track.
'She's Mine / She's Yours' again shows how well this vinyl has been preserved and plays with exceptional quality throughout. The clarity, power and definition of the audio is 'as new' and the few seconds of silence into the end section is 100% silent. This is Mint all the way.
'Just One Time' closes the side with sublime quality once more. The spoken / steel guitar intro is perfect and from then on the clarity is just amazing! Even during the quieter sections near the end there is not so much as a dust tick. Campbell's vocal is again so strong and again I cannot find one single negative. I don't use the term Mint lightly by the way - I only grade it as such if there is literally no background and believe me when I say this is Mint all the way through.

The intro on 'Chicago North-Western' is flawless and the opening vocal is equal to that. It continues to play to this highest standard possible with no ticks, clicks, pops or static. Once again the clarity and depth of the audio is out of this world including the fade out. Mint 'Train' is 'as new' from the first note to the last with no interference of any kind. Owen's vocal is of course very different to Campbell's but it lends itself perfectly to this track. Another strong bluesy rock track the sonic quality is comparable to a record pressed yesterday not nearly 55 years ago! Better actually because the sonic 'landscape' on a Vertigo pressing cannot be beaten! Mint is again deserved.
'Nadine' drives with such strong powerful audio and whilst I do not wish to repeat myself this just could not play any better. This is Mint all day long :-)
The relatively quiet intro on 'Are You Satisfied?' plays with perfect clarity and it progresses in the same precise way. Once again every note is so 'clean' and there is nothing getting in the way of the audio. Running at over 6 minutes you might expect a little background but no it cannot be faulted. I listen to every track in full so as to provide the 'complete' grade and I am 100% confident in grading this closing number as Mint such is quality of the audio.
In summary this Vertigo pressing plays with 10/10 audio from start to finish with no interference. I've just seen I've graded every track as Mint there's not even a solitary Mint- in there! And that is not me 'over-grading' it - as I often say I grade with honesty (why would I not?!) and my feedback pays testament to that. The clarity, depth and power of the audio could not be any more impressive and 'as new' is a correct summation of this very collectable album. A FINAL UPGRADE archive pressing as it were.
The Gatefold & Vertigo Swirl Inner
This cover is often found quite badly worn due to it being unlaminated primarily but this is definitely one of the cleanest I have seen. There is a little rubbing on the edges and the corners but not an excessive amount and the wide spine remains very strong and clean with barely any wear. The opening edge looks hardly touched and the front cover is in lovely condition with no marking, just minimal wear in a couple of corners. The back cover is just as good and the inside of the gatefold is immaculate. A very strong example overall.
The original poly-lined swirl inner is in excellent shape with no side splits or tears and only minimal creasing and a couple of minor marks.
Play tested on my Rega P2 with AT-VM95EN Cart / Denon PMA-520AE Amp / B&W 684 Speakers
This record has been professionally cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine

Postage & Packaging
I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
