Another from my personal collection purchased from new and only ever played a handful of times,, recorded to tape and stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the cover and sleeve for protection for over 41 years, this is how I have always stored my records!!!  Rarely seen 1st UK pressing complete with 1st issue poster cover/gatefold in this awesome top condition (often seen very tatty) !! The vinyl looks and sound very near perfect on my systems (no) clicks or pops (no) distortion A true rich deep bassy feel awesome seperation only found on earliest  UK pressings!! The cover has been carefully preserved for years with the vinyl and sleeve seperated as previously mentioned!, A mega rarety not only for its condition but the fact that this is the earliest 1st original pressing, the most sought after and collectable to ever find in this awesome condition! look the early matrix for this pressing look ''1'' to ''1'' matrix endings !!!

Juicy Lucy are a blues-rock band formed in 1969. After the demise of garage band, The Misunderstood, vocalist Ray Owen, steel guitarist Glenn Ross Campbell, and saxophone player Chris Mercer formed Juicy Lucy. The group later recruited guitarist Neil Hubbard, bassist Keith Ellis, and drummer Pete Dobson!!

The band immediately notched a UK Top 20 hit with their cover version of the Bo Diddley perennial "Who Do You Love?"

Their self-titled debut album then fell just shy of the Top 40 in the UK Albums Chart. The album's cover featured a burlesque dancer named Zelda Plum, naked except for a covering of fruit!!!.

Line-up changes were quickly afoot as ex-Zoot Money singer Paul Williams, guitarist Micky Moody, and drummer Rod Coombes replaced Owen (who exited for a solo career), Hubbard, and Dobson for 1970's Lie Back and Enjoy It (#53 - UK Albums Chart). In May 1970, the band appeared at the annual NME poll-winners concert. Another bassist, Jim Leverton, assumed Ellis' duties for the follow-up, 1971's Get a Whiff a This. In August 1971, Juicy Lucy appeared on the bill at the Weeley Festival near Clacton-on-Sea, Essex!!!

The constant turnover clearly took its toll on the group both creatively and commercially, with co-founders Campbell and Mercer, plus Coombes exiting prior to the fourth Juicy Lucy album, 1972's Pieces. This was recorded by a makeshift line-up of Williams, Moody, keyboardist Jean Roussel, and the former Blodwyn Pig rhythm section of bassist Andy Pyle and drummer Ron Berg. Juicy Lucy disbanded shortly thereafter!!.

Micky Moody (born 30 August 1950, in Middlesbrough), later joined the inaugural Whitesnake line-up in 1978. Before then he was a member of another rock outfit Snafu between 1973 and 1976. Moody also released the bluesy solo album I Eat Them For Breakfast in 2001. Plus, Juicy Lucy's version of the song "Who Do You Love?" was featured in Shellshock: Nam '67!!.

Founder member Ray Owen revived the name in 1995 for the album Here She Comes Again which found Mike Jarvis (guitar), Andy Doughty (bass), and Spencer Blackledge (drums) rounding out the band. A couple of years later this version of the band broke up but Owen wanted to keep on going, especially when he formed a musical partnership with a guitarist known as Mr. Fish. Legal problems kept the new band from using the Juicy Lucy name, so they gigged as Ray Owen's Moon (Moon being the title of Ray Owen's 1971 solo album).

 By 2004 bassist Fudge and drummer Fletch had joined the band and the legal issue was settled. The new Juicy Lucy spent 2006 working on a new album (subsequently titled Do That And You'll Lose It), and touring the UK with fellow rock veterans Nazareth!!

They played the Cambridge Rock Festival (2007) and have a formidable live reputation!!.

 The link with the past though is not forgotten, and the modern day Juicy Lucy still plays "Mississippi Woman", "Who Do You Love?" and more from their first album. In 2009 a new line up formed as, due to health problems, Owen was unable to continue on a regular basis. The band is now fronted by singer/ guitarist Mr Fish, Fletch (drums) and James (bass), and is still touring the UK. Ray Owen now performs occasionally as Ray Owen's Juicy Lucy, accompanied by Mike Jarvis and Spencer Blackledge from the '90s incarnation of the band!!

The Vinyl

The vinyl looks awesome in my opinion almost like new  !! Unbeleivable for the earliest ever pressing 41 years old like this! !  On inspection I can hardly see a blemish at all! Any marks that could possibly be seen under a strong light would be light whypsy sleeve removal marks\scuffs only!! Please note! THERE ARE (NO) NEEDLE SCRATCHES OR ANY AUDIO SOUNDING MARKS AT ALL!!, None that cause any clicks or pops during the audio!! Visually it is obvious that this vinyl has barely ever been played!!

The Audio Quality

I have played the viny three times prior to listing on a top system at very loud volume! Firstly I must say that every side produces the same awesome top quality audio throughout! I heard (no) clicks or pops throughout the play of this album and certainly (no) distortion what so ever! The audio is absolutely cristal clear and vibrant throughout! I can honestly say that there is no other format in my opinion that will produce the awesome audio experiance that these 1st UK pressings produce! Later pressings that I have heard produce a very incipede type of feel lacking in the rich bassey feel that this produces also the rich, sharp percussion that comes across straight away as soon as the needle is put on the vinyl. I would give this album a top grade for the audio quality. I ould class myself as highly critical when it comes down to the audio quality, Please look at my completed listings that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right!!!! The audio is graded at the top on all frequencies!!! As good as it gets in my personal opinion!! This played through very near as perfect on my systems!

Please note! I alays add this disclaimer! Please allow the the odd light static that may be heard in some quiet places, (not consistant throughout the audio) Please remember that this is a genuine 41 year old album that would have originally been played on a 41 year old system! Audio is graded at the top on all frequencies!!

The Labels

These are the original Vertigo labels feature the 'Large Vertigo logo' (only 1st issue) These visually are in awesome condition barely two or three spider marks only can possibly be seen abngled to the light only! Little if no spindle ware the hole is pewfectly round!!!

The Record sleeve

This is the original Poly lined Vertigo Spiral sleeve. No splits or tares absolutely superbe condition!

The Cover

This is the original Vertigo poster\cover\gatefold! Very hard to keep in good condition like this one! No splits or tares and this has never been put on the wall. Any rubbing\storageware ware at the edges is very minimal indeed. Please note, this has been in storage for over 40 years in a case and this has obviously protected this for all of its time!! This cover must grade at least excellent to excellent plus in my opinion! Very scarce to find like this!
