This is a Vinyl LP , Made in Mexico. Scarce Pressing
Julian Carrillo (1875-1965) was a Mexican composer that discovered microtonal music.
His theory was coined “The Thirteenth Sound”. He won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1950 for his work on the node law. His discovery was obviously very influential on future musical composition. The works on this super scarce University of Mexico 2-LP set are: “Horizontes”, for symphonic poem for Violin & Cello, “Preludio A Colon”, for voice & quartertone instruments, “Balbuceos” for microtonal piano, “Concierto para Violoncello” for quarter-tone cello and “Primera Sonata En Mi Menor” for microtonal violin. A wonderful and scarce document of this important composer.
