Very rare 1976 LIMITED-EDITION, PROMOTIONAL-ONLY VINYL LP album release issued to promote the screening on PBS of actress JULIE HARRIS (she co-starred with JAMES DEAN in the 1955 film classic, East of Eden) in The Belle of Amherst, a 1976-1977 television adaptation of the widely acclaimed stage production based on the life of the American poet EMILY DICKINSON (PBS/IBM). This limited edition album features conversations with actors JULIE HARRIS and CHARLES NELSON REILLY, playwright WILLIAM LUCE, and producers MIKE MERRICK and DON GREGORY, along with selected scenes from The Belle of Amherst! SIDE ONE is made up of exclusive interview material with Miss Haris and the other creative principals and tells the inside story of how the production came to be. SIDE TWO, which is an appreciation of the poetry of Emily Dickinson with Miss Harris, Mr. Reilly and Mr. Luce, was/is also intended for use in junior high school and high school classrooms around the country, especially in the fields of English and literature.
