This is a vinyl copy of the classic, 1959 Jazz/Vocal LP "JULIE IS HER NAME - VOL. 2" by the wonderful JULIE LONDON. This is an original 1st Pressing; 12 inch LP on the  purple LONDON label (recorded by LIBERTY, Hollywood). Made In England, the cat.no. is HA-U 2186.  Matrix nos. 2B  &  2B .  

The outer, single, laminated front (with CLARIFOIL) & unlaminated back, cover is in EXCELLENT- condition overall. Glossy on the front & flipbacks, with no creasing, no edge rubbing (no corner rub either) & virtually unmarked on the white back this cover is actually really good.  The front colour (wonderful picture of Julie), laminated surface is EXCELLENT; flat, clean & glossy, but with a "protective" strip/band of sellotape, full length along the opening edge letting it down. This must have seemed like a great idea at the time &, to be fair, probably has helped to preserve the opening edge from feathering, but has resulted (over the intervening 50 years) in both a browning discolouration & a tightening (drying out effect ?) of the band leading to a slight buckling of the cover at the 2 corners.
   The thin spine is EXCELLENT+ ; perfectly, straight, flat & true with all Title Print (printed flat on the back cover) easily readable, with no spinal dings or creases. The opening edge is EXCELLENT- with virtually no feathering & being clean, straight & mostly flat, but with the aforementioned sellotape strip down both sides.
  The rear, double-flipback, white surface is clean with no stains or marks whatsoever (selloptape apart). The top & bottom, laminated, Flipbacks are EXCELLENT with no bits missing. In the very bottom right-hand corner (above the laminated flipback border) the small print reads "Printed in England E.J.D.7/59"  indicating that this is an Ernest J. Day cover issued in July 1959. I grade this back surface as EXCELLENT-; with all type/print perfect.  If it wasn't for the "protective" selloptape this would rate as EXCELLENT++.

The PURPLE (or, is it MAROON ?) record labels with Silver print are EXCELLENT+. Just the merest hint of a minor spindle mark prevents a Perfect grading. Both labels have "LONDON", "LONG PLAYING" &, "AMERICAN SERIES" on them as well as "MADE IN ENGLAND" at the top. Interestingly, both labels state "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1958".

The vinyl is EXCELLENT+ with no surface marking in natural daylight & just minor (paper withdrawal ?) surface mars visible under strong, artificial light. Looks really good to me in natural daylight with no marks visible at all. Certainly no major scratches or marks. Test played today on my highly critical Linn Sondek LP12 ; Plays REALLY, REALLY WELL with just the odd click & crackle & just some surface noise between tracks & in the quieter passages (which I get even on brand new vinyl). Just about as good as it gets!
