Absolutely gorgeous 1956 pressing of Julie London's debut masterpiece LP, Julie is Her Name, on Liberty LRP-3006. Mono Hollywood pressing, with original turquoise labels. This is an undeniable masterpiece of late-night smoky basement jazz, very quiet, moody, and intense. Features an incredible performance by jazz guitar legend Barney Kessel, who just makes this record. If Julie London hadn't been a Hollywood star as well as a singer this record would be more widely regarded as one of the all-time great vocal jazz recordings ever. Just a perfect record. And this copy is nearly perfect. The disc is in simply gorgeous condition, apparently rarely played. Maybe one or two very light sleeve scuffs but really it plays almost flawlessly and just beautifully. The music is so quiet that even a VG+ copy is hardly acceptable. You need it to be as close to mint as possible in order to really enjoy it, and this is just such a copy. Plays so quietly with no disturbance. The cover, likewise, is almost pristine. Crisp edges and corners, no markings, no seam splits, no ringwear. This is almost a perfect mint cover. The whole thing is nearly perfect. A top, top copy, hard to beat.
