Absolutely gorgeous 1956 copy of Julie London's first LP, Julie is her Name, on Liberty mono LRP-3006. This is her masterpiece, by far. The accompaniment is by legendary jazz guitarist Barney Kessel, who is just sublime here. Very quiet, late-night smokey jazz jam feeling here, like no other record she made. And this copy is simply stunning. The disc is very nearly perfectly mint and plays flawlessly and just beautifully. As you all probably know, this music is very quiet and full of space and atmosphere, and so any surface noise is very distracting, but this copy plays quiet as a mouse and really brings the listener in close and clear. Wow... it’s just a beautiful listen. The cover is also very nearly pristine, with barely the slightest signs of use at all. The old “Factory Sealed” sticker is still on the open edge, and there is a price sticker at the top right, but otherwise this is easily the cleanest and shiniest and crispest cover I have ever seen for this early a copy. This is truly a beautiful copy, very hard indeed to top this one.
