Description

Up for your consideration is an original 1958 mono pressing of Julie London’s "Julie" on the Liberty label, catalog number LRP 3096. This is a fantastic (relatively) early recording from Julie – or Rampart’s "Dixie McCall," to those of us who grew up watching “Emergency” on television – with a rather seductive cover.

I have actually played this record through - and this record plays nicely with minimal surface noise. There are the expected occasional clicks and pops, but they do not detract from the overall sound of this recording.

The record labels are free from stickers and handwriting, as is the record cover. There is some ring-wear on both the front and back, and there’s general wear on the front cover photograph, as well as some dirt along the bottom ring-wear on the back (see pictures). There is a 5 ½” seam split along the top right, from the record slot towards the middle. There is also a 1” seam split in the middle of the spine. Otherwise the spine is intact, but starting to deteriorate. Upper left corner is quite worn. With all that said, this is still a very desirable record at a low starting bid!

I've started this auction at a low price for several reasons - I get the insertion fee waived, which allows me to put up another picture or two, and you get a chance to pick up a wonderful record for your collection at a reasonable price. I am not a dealer! I'm just a guy who loves the sound of vinyl and the visual images and text that only a record cover can provide. This record - and the other records I'm listing right now - come from a friend; and I get the joy of listening through them as I put them up here on eBay for her, and the ones that don't sell, well, I get to include them in *my* collection. So it's a WIN for everybody!

If you look at my eBay rating, you'll notice I took a hit (negative feedback) some months back - my first negative *ever* in my 11 years here on eBay. In the middle of that particular auction, my attention became focused entirely on a family matter, and unfortunately, this eBay customer suffered for it. However, in the end, the customer was fully refunded *and* received the product. Please rest assured that this record - and any other item I put up here on eBay - is ready to be shipped within 24 hours of receiving your payment.

PLEASE READ - SHIPPING CHARGES

I’ll ship this Media Mail to keep costs down, but if you'd prefer another method, please let me know and we'll work it out. In the greater Boston area? We can make arrangements for pickup to save on shipping costs! Are you an Alaska or Hawaii or non-US bidder? Please contact me for an accurate rate, and to discuss payment options (additional charges may be needed for currency conversion if not using PayPal).

Yes! I’ll combine winning bids!

Also, you'll notice that my shipping charges are a little lower than most - that's because I don't try to make an extra buck from over-charging on shipping. You should know that the average cost for shipping an LP domestically via Media Mail is about $2.50. Yes, $2.50! The extra 50 cents from *my* $3 shipping charge goes toward the cost of the LP mailer, bubble-wrap, and the plastic protective sleeve that protects each of your winning bids. I guess that would be the "handling" we all hear so much about. Anyway, I thought you should know up front, how my shipping charges work.
