Rare JUNIOR Mc CANTS Promo 45
"THE BOY NEEDS A GIRL" backed with "HELP MY LOVE"
King Records # 45-6076
A very rare 45 by Cincinnati, Ohio recording artist Junior McCants. This was released in 1967, and although it did receive some regional air play this record failed to chart. That’s a shame because it is a great record, and Junior’s falsetto-style vocals work very well on both sides. This is a White Label Promo pressing with ‘PROMOTIONAL” printed on the record labels. It also comes in its original stock King Records paper sleeve.

The sound clips were recorded from the actual 45 being offered, with no filtering or enhancing of any kind.
This 45 is clean and under a lamp the vinyl shows a small amount of very light cosmetic surface scuffing, which is mostly in the dead wax at the beginning of the record. It plays with some ticking and a bit of light surface noise. The generic King paper sleeve has no splitting and no writing. It does have some crinkling and some discoloration near the bottom, and the adhesive on the side is showing through lightly on one side.
This 45 will be placed between pieces of cardboard inside a paper 45 sleeve for protection during shipping.
