Description
The vinyl on both sides of this single is clean an shiny, with some hairline paper scuffs. Both sides play loud and clear with some low level surface noise on the lead in tracks, not audible when the music is playing. The label on the A side is clean with no writing or stickers, however there is a mark on the B side where a label has been removed and for this reason I have graded it G+ instead of VG.The cover is plain white, not the original. These songs were originally released on the Vanguard label in the US in 1967 and this Astor release came out in Australia in the same year(refer Discogs). The Vanguard release is rare in the US, and the Astor release is even rarer here. The music is a departure from the Chicago Blues style of his earlier material,(he doesn't play harmonica on these tracks) moving more towards Soul/Funk rhythms, but Buddy Guy's guitar backing provides the link between the two styles. The record was produced by musicologist Samuel Charters for the Vanguard label. If you haven't heard these tracks before, they are both on youtube. I only post to within Australia.
