Description
THIS is the iconic, "poster boy" record by the "COTTON PICKERS ORCHESTRA," a.k.a. the GREY GULL HOUSE BAND. "JUST BLUES" features all the usual suspects: MIKE MOSIELLO, trumpet / ANDY SANNELLA, clarinet & sax / CHARLES MAGNANTE, accordion / GEORGE HAMILTON GREEN, xylophone and others in a goofy, straight-ahead blues. It is a gleeful, heart-felt, non-copyright romp, seemingly assembled on a whim. Of COURSE the "B" sides are where the good stuff is to be found on this label!
On the "A" side (the hit side), is "LOUISE" from the runaway hit '29 Paramount talkie, "Innocents of Paris." THE SOUTHERN DANCE ORCHESTRA" is probably all the same guys, only sober, with their collars on straight.
This original 1929 Madison 1649 is in super-clean E condition! An improbable feat for one of these "Brand X Shellac" dime-store records!

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
