Description
This week I am offering a selection of original classic jazz, bop, cool jazz plus some select jazz vocal and pop vocal LPs and 10" albums.
Labels included here are Blue Note, Prestige, Roost, Bethlehem, Clef, Norgran, Emarcy, Contemporary, Pacific Jazz, Atlantic, Coral, Capitol, RCA Victor and a few others. Most of these records are in VG+ to VG++ condition, with a few NM and a few VG ...all original; many quite scarce.
All with Low opening bids -and No Reserve.

COVER: VG+
Solid cover with sharp corners and very minimal wear. Bright, vivid and otherwise very clean front has some light tan marks in white areas. Bright, back, with clear, unworn print has a bit of faint discoloring at right edge and a few spots of light soil. The liner notes have 3 lines that have been underlined and 2 commas added in ball-point.
Spine and top seam are superb. Bottom seam has small, clean split at center -neatly and tightly repaired with strip of clear, acid-free *Document Repair Tape. Nearly invisible.
*This specially formulated tape will never peel, flake, yellow or out-gas upon the cover. It is a professional repair that will preserve the edges of the cover through your lifetime and beyond. Applied in an even, single strip, across entire seam, very clean and neat. Permanent, strong and ARCHIVAL.
VINYL: VG++
Strong gloss still present on very clean vinyl. Very few hairlines -that are almost entirely inaudible. Both sides play very clean throughout. Deep groove labels are super-clean.

This is Jutta's first record with her own quintet; recorded while she still lived in Frankfurt, Germany.
Lennie Tristano heard her group there, after corresponding with her the previous year, while she was still with Hans Kohler's outfit. Leonard Feather took the opportunity to seek her out, while in Europe for Downbeat -heard her quintet, including Alto saxophonist, Emil Mangelsdorff and Tenor player, Jaki Freund; in a small crowded jazz cellar in Duisburg; was bowled over -and arrangements were begun on the spot to record her with the quintet.
This amazing 10" recording is the result. It caused a huge sensation among the New York jazz community -and Jutta was begged, wheedled and finally persuaded to leave her group behind and move to New York.
She only continued playing for just under 2 fabulous years in New York and then retired to her first love of painting.
An extremely hard item to find, especially with such clean vinyl.
NM copies of this record, when found, trade for upwards of $400+.
