Description
For sale is Jack Bruce's Song for a Taylor, released in 1969 by Atco Records. On the labels are the suffix "CTH", and in the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched "T" and "CTH, followed by the matrix numbers 1-A/1-A. These etchings indicate that the first stamper was used to press this first edition at Columbia Records' pressing plant located in Terre Haute, Indiana. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This preserves the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. The inner sleeve is graded as Excellent because of some wrinkles. The lyric insert is Near Mint Minus because of a slightly creased corner. The cover is graded G+ because of a 6" seam split at the top, a metal-bound hole in the corner, edge rubs, corner blunts and ring wear. The spine has color loss at the corners from stress cracks along the spine. The corners are frayed with some paper loss, especially the lower right hand corner where the seam is beginning to split. The vinyl is visually graded between Excellent and Near Mint Minus because of a faint surface scratch across the middle of the first song of Side One (B1) and the beginning of the second song (B2). I'm play grading this as Near Mint Minus. There was just a hint of low level surface noise between tracks in the dead wax, normal for a used record. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I have more British Invasion records, as well as albums of all different genres, in my Ebay store. Please take a look.
