Jack Linx & His Birminham Society Serenaders 78rpm 1927 Okeh #40803 He’s The Last Word / Beale St. Blues – Free Shipping
You are bidding on the exact record shown in my photos. It is an original release from Okeh Electric Records. It is the 78rpm record number 40803 as recorded and released in 1927.
The shellac does not look good, but the music plays great! In fact, almost perfectly! Please don’t ignore this record solely based on the was it looks.
The songs are “He’s The Last Word” b/w “Beale St. Blues”.
The Society Serenaders consist of Coleman Sachs on cornet, Jack Linx on clarinet, soprano sax, and alto sax, Sidney Patterson on clarinet and alto sax, Seibert Traxler on clarinet, tenor sax, and baritone sax, Eph Tunkle on piano, Maurice Sigler on banjo, Frank Manning on tuba, and Carroll Gardner on drums.
Condition: The record is only in G/VG condition (based on the Goldmine standard). There are many light scuffs and (mostly) non-feelable scratches. The labels are intact with no writing or stickers. Please see all my photos.
Most importantly: The record plays much better than it looks! It plays completely and (other than a few scattered faint tics) almost perfectly on my record player with no noise, skips or tics. I will ship it with a plain sleeve
