JACKIE LOMAX - 'SOUR MILK SEA'/'THE EAGLE LAUGHS AT YOU'
UK 1968 1st PRESSING 45
This disc was the THIRD of the four 45s on The Beatles' own Apple Records label, all released simultaneously on August 30th 1968 & features George Harrison & Eric Clapton on guitars, Paul McCartney on bass, Ringo Starr on drums & Nicky Hopkins on piano.
This respectable & hard to find original copy is a UK 1st mono pressing on the dark green Apple label: APPLE 3
Both labels bear the 'Sold in UK.. text & a 'KT' purchase tax code on the side 2 label.
Housed in its original matt black Apple company cover.
Matrix numbers: APPLE 3A-1 &APPLE 3B-1
1001 A-1 & 1001 B-1 are crossed out in each respective run-out.
Stamper codes: 1/L & 1/G
CONDITION
Labels: EXCELLENT
A rich and clean set with just some light spindle marks around each unworn centre hole and a few light scratches to the side 1 label.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Glossy & clean playing surfaces where the only significant blemishes in strong daylight are two non-feelable fingernail scuff lines on side 2. Closer inspection directly beneath halogen light reveals some light wispy paper-type hairlines but no major marks or wear.
Play: EXCELLENT
This copy has recieved some play but still sounds great with a deep solid bass and unworn highs. In fact, there is no significant deterioration to the sound quality or indeed any major faults throughout.
Cover
VERY GOOD
Clean & flat with some light storagewear creasing and a 7mm tear to the front hole, but no seam splits or writing.
