JACKIE LOMAX - 'SOUR MILK SEA'/'THE EAGLE LAUGHS AT YOU'

UK 1968 1st PRESSING 45

This disc was the THIRD of the four 45s on The Beatles' own Apple Records label, all released simultaneously on August 30th 1968.

This great track features a dream line-up of: George Harrison & Eric Clapton on guitars, Paul McCartney on bass, Ringo Starr on drums & Nicky Hopkins on piano.

This NEAR MINT copy is a UK 1st mono pressing on the dark green Apple label: APPLE 3

Both labels bear the 'Sold in UK.. text & a 'KT' purchase tax code on the side 1 label.

Housed in its original matt black Apple company cover.

Matrix numbers: APPLE 3A-1 &APPLE 3B-1

'1001 A-1 & 1001 B-1' are crossed out in each respective run-out.

Stamper codes: 1/H & 1/O

CONDITION

Labels: NEAR MINT

A top-class set with the just two or three faint spindle trails around the side 2 centre hole but none on 1, indicating very little play indeed.

Visual: NEAR MINT

Immaculate, deep-gloss surfaces which are MINT strong daylight with just a small number of harmless wispy paper hairlines visible directly beneath halogen light.

Play: NEAR MINT

This copy has been barely played and sounds as such with a deep, solid bass and unworn highs. There is no groove/play wear or any other audible faults audible on either side.

Cover

VERY GOOD +

Flat & fully intact with some minor storage wrinkles but no major faults.

**PLEASE NOTE: This item is located and will be shipped from AUSTRIA. 1st class international postage to UK addresses will be 5.00 GBP**

  • My grading is strict & conservative grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
