Blue Note 4024 47 W. 63rd Jackie Mclean Swing Swang!!
Jackie Mclean "Swing Swang Swingin!" Deep Groove Blue Note 4024 with 47 W. 63rd St. address. RVG in the dead wax. Sleeve is in excellent condition with only slight corner wear as shown in the two pictures. No seem splits, writing, or ring wear. Label is clean. Vinyl has some visible scratches on both sides, however, this does not affect the quality of play very much. There is some surface noise on the first side which diminishes as the first song goes on. Most of side 1 sounds clean. Side two has 2 pops during the beginning of "I Love You." The rest of side two sounds great. I played this record on a decent turntable (by no means audiophile quality) multiple times to assess the audio quality of this record. Despite some visible scratches, this record retains nearly all of its original high quality recording.
This record came from an antique shop in New Jersey whose owner purchased the remainder of Dizzy Gillespie's record collection from his estate in Englewood, NJ. This record was part of that collection. I have no way of verifying this, but I can tell you that other records in that collection included acetates from late in his career and records signed to him from other jazz greats (like Sun Ra). As this is unverified, consider it just an interesting bit of provenance.
