Description
For auction today: Teenage Love / Rockin' Orgy - Part 1. Performed by Melbourne band Jade. There is a 2nd or 3rd , perhaps 4th or 5th or even a 6th or 7th sole copy in existence as far as my research has shown....and this is one of them.
The A-side is American style preppy/high school kiddy rubbish. No good, to my ears.
The B-side "Rockin' Orgy" however could not be more different. It runs 2 mins. 51 seconds.
Background: As if 15 days of me dealing in rare records was not enough to make me an expert, I asked some other Aussie "experts" and they put a time frame of its recording at late 1960's or early 70's. They also mentioned that judging by their knowledge of the studio in question, that it is a demo-only recording. They are good buddies, especially after downing 25 beers so I am sure they were telling me the truth. It never had a general release and probably a demo they put to vinyl for their own use..........probably, but highly unlikely! I strongly believe that perhaps 1 or 2 other copies may exist but whereabouts are not known............. perhaps, but not very likely! Never offered for sale before to best of my knowledge...................... except on ebay a few weeks ago.
It was recorded at Allan's Demonstration Studio as you can see, which is/was in Victoria, Australia.
This psychedelic single has the lot. Echo vocals, electric fuzz, reverb and tons of phasing. For sheer insanity and epitomizing the heavy psych sound, it can't be beat. Never a conservative or boring moment. It's even got a real crazy orgasmic ending. Don't need to hype, it speaks for itself anyway.
Just how rare is this record? Rarer than a good Phil Collins song, rarer that a member of Pink Floyd with a sense of humour, rarer than an Eagles member with a likeable personality, rarer than a record on Ebay that is not described as being rare/collectable..........that's how rare it is!!!!
Record is in VG condition, has a few light marks and scratches, plays through OK with some light surface noise
