This outstanding pianist recorded and performed for nearly 40 years, primarily as a soloist and bandleader.  But he also made some of his most notable impacts working with Charles Mingus during the peak of Mingus’ career.  While most of his recordings are at the piano, he was also an accomplished saxophonist, guitarist, and bassist.  In the late 60’s he assembled his one and only trio featuring David Izenson on bass and Elvin Jones on drums.  The trio recorded just this one album and it is stunning.  The album was released on Prestige in 1968, number PR 7550.  This is the original release of the album.  The vinyl is in beautiful condition with its bright original luster and just a couple of very light paper scuffs that barely impact play.  It plays with almost no background noise.  The vinyl grades VG+.  The album cover shows s hint of ring wear and very light corner and edge wear.  All seams are clean, sharp, tight, and intact.  The cover grades VG+.
